Demonstration workshop on Mobile and Flexible Industrial Processing of Biomass June 14-16th in Umeå, at SLU

“The MOBILE FLIP (Mobile and Flexible Industrial Processing of Biomass) project runs from 2015 to 2018 and aims at developing and demonstrating mobile processes for the treatment of underexploited agro- and forest based biomass resources into products and intermediates. The processes will be evaluated in terms of raw material flexibility, as the biomass resources are typically scattered and seasonal. Process concepts have been designed around the key technologies pelletizing, torrefaction, slow pyrolysis, hydrothermal pretreatment and carbonisation. The concept evaluations are supported both by research and industrial (SME and large industries) partners in the whole value chains. A milestone is defined in the midterm of the project to identify the most feasible process lines for demonstration.” For more info: http://www.mobileflip.eu/

The demonstration workshop takes place at SLU in Umeå (incl. excursions) during three days, June 14-16th, as a joint arrangement between the MOBILE FLIP project and SLU. Researchers, students, as well as people from forestry, forest industries, biorefining industries and organizations etc. are welcome to participate these days. The objectives of the workshops are to present ongoing research and development work within the MOBILE FLIP project and to network and discuss relevant issues within the development of the biobased society. The workshop specifically aims at demonstrating and discussing Mobile and Flexible Industrial Processing of Biomass, including raw-material supplies.
